Our Sires & Dams

The Foundation of Our Westie Breeding Program

At West Coast Westies, our breeding program begins with carefully selected West Highland White Terrier sires and dams. We believe exceptional Westie puppies start with thoughtful breeding decisions, which is why we place careful consideration on health, temperament, structure, pedigree, and classic breed characteristics when selecting our breeding dogs.

Our goal is to produce healthy, beautiful, well-tempered Westie puppies that reflect the qualities that make the West Highland White Terrier such a beloved companion.

Our Westie Sires

Our male Westies are selected for their sound structure, confident temperament, distinctive appearance, and overall breed quality. Each sire contributes important qualities to our breeding program, and we carefully consider pedigree and individual characteristics when planning future litters.

We look for sires that represent the classic West Highland White Terrier while complementing the strengths and characteristics of our females.

Our Westie Dams

Our female Westies are an important part of the foundation of our Westie breeding program. We thoughtfully select our dams based on health, temperament, structure, pedigree, and overall breed characteristics.

Our girls receive attentive care throughout their lives, with a focus on maintaining their health and wellbeing while giving them the best possible environment for raising healthy, well-socialized puppies.

Health & Responsible Breeding

Responsible breeding is at the heart of West Coast Westies. Before planning a litter, we consider the health history, temperament, structure, pedigree, and individual characteristics of the prospective parents.

We also believe transparency and appropriate veterinary care are important parts of maintaining a responsible West Highland White Terrier breeding program.

Our breeding decisions are made with the long-term wellbeing of both the parents and puppies in mind.

Preserving the Westie Breed

The West Highland White Terrier is known for its distinctive white coat, expressive face, confident personality, intelligence, and playful spirit. Our breeding program is designed to preserve these cherished qualities while focusing on healthy development and excellent temperament.

We carefully consider how each sire and dam complement one another so that their puppies have the opportunity to inherit the desirable qualities and characteristics we value in the breed.
